The diving in Nha Trang
The diving in Nha Trang
The diving in Nha Trang is fairly easy, it's shallow and there is rarely any current to speak of. The visibility can be up to 25m but goes down to 2-4m in December and the water temperature ranges from 18-28 degrees depending on the time of year. You can see the weather in Nha Trang now on the right and read more about the diving in Nha Trang on the dive sites page.
All the diving in Nha Trang takes place from boats around a group of islands about 40 minutes away from the mainland. The islands form part of the Hon Mun marine protected area and it's good to see steps being taken to preserve the reefs, although how effective the MPA is remains to be seen and fishing boats are still a common sight. Hopefully both the authorities and the local people will start to take this more seriously as they realise both the effect diving tourism has on the local economy, and the effect the local economy is having on the reefs.

With a good company you can expect to pay around $50 for a two dive trip including dive guide, lunch and hotel pick-up. All the diving takes place in the morning due to local regulations and you can expect to be back in Nha Trang between 1 and 2pm.
